Archery (sur qarvaq) is one of the "three virile sports" (er kuni gurvan naadam); the others are horse racing and wrestling. The bow is made of larch and the string is a tendon of a three year old bull, stretched and twisted. The arrow is made of willow with vulture's feathers, whilst for competition purposes the point is covered with a rounded cone-shaped bone (Ik Uul, in the aymag of Zavqan).
